Objective:
To properly understand Shahnameh by correct narration of Shahnameh
Introduction:
Ferdowsi's Shahnameh is the common inheritance of all who attend the Shahnameh
sessions. Proper understanding of Shahnameh cannot be achieved through psittaciform
Psittaciform: The qualities of parrots. To imitate sounds and mimic talking without realizing what one is saying.

can volunteer to participate in the following Groups:
Narrator: Narrator's 4 main responsibilities are in the following order: 1) Concordance [Vajhegan] designation, 2) Prose reading, 3) Narration [Naghali], 4) Group reading mentor.
1) Concordance [Vajhegan] designation 1.0 Your first responsibility is to designate unclear and uncommon phrases that should be added to the Concordance. PLEASE NOTE: you are NOT to look up any terms from a dictionary.
How to Designate phrases: 1.1 Review each verse. 1.2 Enter a Latin transliterate (Persian in Latin alphabet) of the Persian terms which you want to be translated for the Concordance.
1.3 The transliterate convention: Alef baa kolaah [ A ] as in bArAn.
1.4 You will receive a numbered list for each Chapter in a separate email.
1.5 The phrases which you designate and their corresponding definition will later gets added to the Concordance.
Once again, please note: you are not defining the meaning of any word. You will simply determine the terms you deem necessary to be included for better understanding of the chapter.
The above step should be completed a week prior to start of the upcoming session.
2) Prose reading 2.0 To assist the participants with the preceding chapter, you will read the Persian prose (Nasr) of the previous session before reading the prose of the new Chapter assigned to you
2.1 Read the prose for the new Chapter. You will receive the Prose (matn-e Nasr) through email. Please note: the first rendition is only a "Preliminary" subject to revision. You need to apply "refresh" (in Internet Explorer) pull down menu or F5 so you can view the most recent version of the Chapter.
3) Narration [Naghali] 3.0 Narrate (Ravaayat) the chapter by annunciating the words according to the vowels (zir o zebar).
3.1 Apply the required exceptions where a vowel is not needed (mosavat saamet, sokoon) due to the articulation of rhythm and meter specific to Shahnameh (bahr moteghaareb).
4) Group reading mentor 4.0 To mentor the participants in the Joint Reading (hameh-khani) by indicating in the text area their errors and corresponding verse number.

Translator:
To transcribe a summary English (not a verbatim translation) of the Persian Prose (Nasr) that appears at the end of each chapter.- Qualifications: To read Farsi and type in English.
Verifier: To compare and confirm the text transferred to the web against a hard copy of Shahnameh.- Qualification: To use Shahnameh published in 1950 by Oriental Institute of the Academy of Sciences under the supervision of Ye. E. Bertels.{SessionNote
